POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Family Practice Medical Provider
Reports To: Health Clinic Director/Tribal Council
Time Status: .2-.3 FTE (8-12 hrs per week at the Health Clinic)
The Kootenai Tribe of Idaho is seeking a Part Time Family Practice Provider to provide ambulatory health care to eligible Native American beneficiaries. The Provider is responsible for direct medical care of patients, including diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic services.
Duties and Responsibilities: Utilizes medical histories, performing appropriate plans and therapies (including referrals for consultations). Provide medical follow-up, medical care to all age groups. Makes referrals to specialists and provides follow-up. Reviews clinical records, evaluates medical care, provided by consultants, specialists and staff. Recommends changes, and participate in developing, implenting and evaluating policies to ensure high quality, cost-effective medical care. Support/contribute in efforts to maintain/improve patient satisfaction. Reviews laboratory, consultants' reports and initiates any indicated follow-up. Participates in staff meetings, and case conferences. Maintains small clinic pharmacy. MD/DOs will supervise FNP, PA and RN. Responsible for maintaining credentials, including Idaho Medical License, DEA licenses, CME hours, CPR Certifications. Submit current credentials before old credentials expire. Follow all clinic policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Completion of a nationally accredited school of medicine, with current unrestricted Idaho Licensure to practice medicine, DEA Registration and certification by the American Board of Family Practice preferred but not mandatory. Directly related experience in clinic management and medical practice. Must be fully vaccinated for covid-19 and Ability to pass background check. Preference will be given to qualified Native American applicants [42 CFR 36.221]
